Puppies have doll faces too!

I love big eyed puppy dogs and these guys were just begging to be drawn! The pug and the big headed puppy are inspired by my own 2 little sad eyed boys!

Well they are not puppies anymore and at dinner time they don't look so sad.

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

I finally saw the movie with my Best Friend! I thought it was a fun, light and entertaining movie.

The look and "sets" of the movie did not disappoint.

The girl cast as Alice had a fresh and sour puss face, perfect as teen angst-sy Alice. The young Alice was adorable and I wished she was more prominent in the movie flashbacks.

Loved the Mad Hatter character played perfectly by the brilliant Johnny Depp (though I still liked him the best in 21 jump st, before he started donning the weird get-ups, face makeup+bizarre mannerisms and accents.)

Ms. Helena has always been one of my favorite actresses since Room with a View (before she started donning the weird get-ups, face makeup+bizarre mannerisms and accents) and she played this part perfectly. Loved her bulbous head! (I have a thing for oversized heads I am sure you've noticed)

The Cheshire Cat is possibly my favorite character in this movie (and the hound dog a close second).

I know alot of people gave this movie a thumbs down but if you don't go in expecting them to follow the original story and just want to be entertained then this movie delivered. I did feel that the whole "epic battle" and the St. Joan of Wonderland aspect a bit predictable but that is Hollywood for you.

Sometimes you just have to eat some Oreos

It is 4:01 a.m. and I'm doing a little Etsy-ing and artsy-ing and yes I am eating Oreos. I know this is not the place to discuss boring grown-up concerns but... um–I went on a self imposed diet of sorts (gasp, yes it is true!) for the last couple of months and have been really good about not eating too many desserts, but you know, every once in a while a girl needs to have her cookies, and my cookie of choice is delicious!

ps: I also had a Haagen Dazs vanilla ice-cream bar covered with chocolate and almond at the movies and it was glorious.

I- will-not-feel-quilty!
(at least til morning. Oh wait it is morning. ha!)

I know, I know! This blog is about Endless Desserts. I won't talk of diets again!

Hansel & Gretel

It was now three mornings since they had left their father's house. They began to walk again, but they always came deeper into the forest, and if help did not come soon, they must die of hunger and weariness. When it was mid-day, they saw a beautiful snow-white bird sitting on a bough, which sang so delightfully that they stood still and listened to it. And when its song was over, it spread its wings and flew away before them, and they followed it until they reached a little house, on the roof of which it alighted; and when they approached the little house they saw that it was built of bread and covered with cakes, but that the windows were of clear sugar. "We will set to work on that," said Hansel, "and have a good meal. I will eat a bit of the roof, and you Gretel, can eat some of the window, it will taste sweet." Hansel reached up above, and broke off a little of the roof to try how it tasted, and Gretel leant against the window and nibbled at the panes. Then a old voice cried from the parlor:
"Nibble, nibble, gnaw, Who is nibbling at my little house?"

The children answered:

"The wind, the wind,The heaven-born wind,"
And the old voice said...

"Oh, you dear children, who has brought you here? Do come in, and stay with me. No harm shall happen to you..."

The Last Snow Day of the Season

The Chase

We had a wonderwintery time doing some snow activities this past weekend and I fear it will probably be the last of the season, at least in Southern California. The weather is warming up and spring is quickly approaching. We (Mr Dollface and I) went up to the Big Bear area and had a day of cross country skiing! (I know, I know who does that?) .

It was very serene and beautiful, things you might miss if you downhill ski are the quiet, the tranquility and the peacefulness...(and the exhaustion)

Alice's Adventure in Wonderland

Did everyone have a fun weekend in Wonderland? I wasn't able to make it to the movie, my best friend got a headache and canceled on me! How dare she! Off with her head!!

I did keep myself busy with some new Alice illustrations...

Just a little peep down the rabbit hole, that's all
